Finance resumes for analysts, advisors, and senior management
Finance CVs that signal numeracy, compliance literacy, and outcome-anchored thinking — without burying the human under acronyms.
What hiring managers in finance actually want
Finance CVs are read in two passes: a technical pass that looks for specific certifications (CFA, CPA, FRM, Series 7 / 63), software systems (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, FactSet, S&P Capital IQ), and regulatory frameworks (SOX, Basel III, IFRS), and a judgment pass that looks for size of book, accuracy of forecasts, and complexity of deals. Lead bullets with the dollar amount, the deal size, the model accuracy, or the number of stakeholders — these are the only currencies finance recruiters value. Avoid vague "financial analysis" framing; name the model (DCF, comparable company analysis, sensitivity analysis), the period (quarterly close, annual budget), and the audience (board, audit committee, regional CFO). Compliance language matters: don't fudge regulatory familiarity, because reference checks in this industry verify exactly what you claimed.
